my first post for my first blog.
On New year’s day, I went to Nagaoka tenjin
for 初詣(hatsumoude) with my family.
初詣 is to pray for happiness and health for
whole year. Many Japanese people visit shrines and make New year’s wishes.
This is one of traditional Japanese cultures.
And one more thing, お節料理(osechi-ryori) is special cuisine on New year’s day.
Each dish and ingredient are packed in
square boxes and have meanings, such as good health, good harvest, long life and
so on.
New year’s day is like Thanks giving day in
U.S. All of family members gather at
home, great and eat traditional food.
